Long story short, after 30 years I re-read Chronicles and fell in love with some of the characters again (Tas!). The FAQ states the easiest way to tell is to search "included with your membership", but that's useless if you don't have a membership yet. Sorry to necro this thread, but it's relevant to my question and couldn't find anything more recent.Īre all (or any) of the Dragonlance books on Audible in "premium plus" version or do I just need the basic "plus" subscription? With so many books to get through, I would prefer just having the basic subscription as I don't anticipate listening to books outside of DL for quite awhile. I sure wish Dragonlance would get a proper new version of the classics read by someone like a Stephen Pacey or Marc Thompson. They’re enjoyable and more listenable even if they don’t have the modern production. I’d try and stick with the orignal audiotapes/cd versions of the audiobooks over most audible new versions if possible. It’s hard to find them, and the quality is usually not perfect. Peter Johnson and John Polk on the old versions of chronicles/legends before the newer audible ones in every instance is superior. Much better than lost chronicles garbage that makes them unlistenable. The new Dragonlance Destinies narrator is solid. Super easy to use - no download, no login required. If on Chrome - you will get access to Googles voices as well. I can’t even listen to them because of it. TTSReader is a free Text to Speech Reader that supports all modern browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Safari. The Tas speaking like a dullard is like nails on a chalkboard. They try and do voices and it’s unlistenable. Unfortunately the lost chronicles narrator is horrible. The original narrator (narrators?) is solid on Chronicles and Legends. For example, I enjoyed the Chronicles and am enjoying the new series as well, but I couldnt stand the Twins trilogy. I have read numerous Dragonlance books through it and I agree that the quality varies dramatically. The newer audible versions of chronicles are weak. I listen to the audiobooks for the vast majority of my reading any more. There’s no audiobook for Second Generation I’ve seen.
